Fish diet
To lose some weight (maybe I’m about 10-15lbs overweight now), I’ve gone on a fish diet. It’s not really a strict regimen of fish-only meals, but for a few days now I’ve been avoiding meat. The reason? To avoid fat and cholesterol intake. And since fish is so abundant in my locale, it’s not a very difficult diet to follow.
Fish meat has high protein content, and it’s rich in iodine, and it’s arguably a healthy option to pork or beef. Chicken? I’ve never really been a fan of chicken dishes, so it’s not a hard thing for me to give up. Besides, chicken skin and the dark meat of fowl are crazy loaded with cholesterol!
I’m going to stick to this fish diet for a few more weeks and see what effects it will have on my body.

Great article, thanks for sharing it! Would love to feature you on Wellsphere.com, a site that helps people to live healthier. Can’t find a contact form so thought I’d comment; look forward to hearing from you. Thanks, Larisa
I want to share my experience — I tried a tofu diet and it worked great. Like your fish diet, it’s not really a tofu-only meal. Tofu is high on protein. Another great thing about tofu is that it’s low on calories. Low calories – high protein, what more can we ask for? Still not convinced? How about low-fat and cholesteroal free?
Important to remember to eat fish low on the food chain so that the mercury content stays low. I love eating fish–twice a week. I go for wild caught salmon and also sardines, which are loaded with calcium

For my in-between snacks, I created a tuna sandwich spread that I could eat conveniently whether I’m at home, at the office, or at the gym. Using of course lite-mayo, no sugar just pickle relish and a small pint of salt. It has been great because after work out, I would consume a pair of whole-wheat bread with the spread(and liters of water). I have aimed for a “VERY” strict diet because I want to get six pack abs now(or later) and eating tuna had been enjoyable so far. I like sardines too so I guess we’re a Fish Nation…
