Yogilates as a form of torture

Alright guys..yeh so as my title seems to hint at I had a rather gruesome encounter with the seemingly inconspicuous yogilates. This blend of yoga and pilates (netiher of which I knew anything about beforehand) is a 75 minute long session designed to test even the most hardened of fitness freaks. I had this misconception see that yoga and pilates were for girls..a glorified menstrual party where you went to breathe and stretch but mostly to complain about your abusive husband and failing kids. Turns out I was wrong fuckers..shit me..from about 10 minutes in I felt like I was having a heart attack. I don’t think it helped that our instructor was a maniac, clearly not convinced of the benefits that breaks may offer..I mean it was like CONTINUOUS aerobic training for 75 minutes (I think his name was Kevin?? he won’t be receiving a christmas card). I think the real killer with yogilates is that it requires you to recruit muscles that you NEVER use usually..like when you’re kicking your legs up from the cradle position and stuff, these are movements that we just don’t get around to during our everyday lives. All jokes aside though these sessions are seriously good for cardiovascular fitness, flexibility, and even building up strenth in your muscles because there is so much emphasis on manipulating your own body weight. If I can bring myself to take the plunge again I will go back next week in order to supe up my program a bit.

Asides from the class from hell, this week I went to the gym only once, on tuesday I think. My muscles have been struggling to keep up I guess because I was out of training for so long before this recent return. I think I will be able to get in 3 sessions next week..will try to split into back and legs, shoulders and chest, then arms and abs and cardio. I’ll post up some pics midweek as well. This will be like my midway point. My trips been cut short by a few days because I need to get back to inglattere for a couple of events. So my weigh-in will now be on 20th sept instead of the 25th. 17 more days of discipline.

On a quick side note, I’m feeling totally fricking great atm in terms of mood and health and general well-being. My dairy free commitment has been a lot easier than anticipated..apart from the odd cheesecake that appears in the bakery downstairs, I’ve really not been tempted at all. My tummy feels better I feel lighter and more energetic I really don’t think that lactose does me much good ya know. Not been eating as much fruit as I’d like but my diet just feels really clean right now..like lots of rice (not great, but necessary to top up glycogen stores), lots of lean meat and veges, only drunk alcohol once since I’ve been here as well..that can’t be bad.

In other news, I performed two mini surgeries on my own in hospital yesterday. Cauterization of warts and removal of skin tags..I was shitting myself but I think it went ok..lawsuit pending. I’m hopefully getting a rather strange body mod on myself this week called tongue bifurcation..think about it..and poker’s going really good right now..taking down a lot of $$$ playing my best game plo8 on party. Will play in a 2500p NLHE tourney over at metro card club on the 16th I think it is. Its a 2-day 400k guarenteed so hopefully I can make a run at that.

Anywho peace & chicken grease y’all.
