Mission: 6-Pack Abs

This is my Goal

Welcome to my health & fitness blog! You could think of it as an online lifestyle magazine as well. Aside from my experiences, I will also feature other stuff that I hope you’ll find interesting or useful. My goal: to achieve physical fitness as only six-pack abs can exemplify.

Poor eating habits

Round, pink-cheeked babies are just adorable, aren’t they? Parents visibly beam when people remark how plump their babies or toddlers are. Conversely, they suffer anxiety attacks when friends or relatives observe that their offspring look thin. I’ve noticed in a number of new families, parents tend to fatten up their children, for fear of tongue-clicking [...]

Exercise for the advanced in years

Many of my friends and relatives have remarked how good my mother still looks, considering she’s already well in her golden years. In fact, she still looks to be in her 40s. People who don’t know us and meet us for the first time get a mild shock when they find out that I’m really [...]

It’s crunch time!

sexy abs

Crunches, that is! For those of you who want to get abs like this — or at least a flat tummy — here’s a proven method. If you persevere and don’t skip sessions, results can be realized in less time than you might think. But no, this isn’t a get-abs-quick scheme. Like I said, it’s [...]

Site redesign

blog’s previous look

One way of getting out of the doldrums (a.k.a. severe blogging lethargy) is a theme extreme make-over. And that’s exactly what I’ve done for Mission: 6-Pack Abs. I guess I was getting tired of the previous theme… actually, I don’t think I was ever really happy with it in the first place. (Of course, I [...]

They call themselves a free calorie counter, diet [...]

Dancing as powerful exercise

Julius

A few days ago I met an energetic group of college guys whose passion is dancing. Their main interests lie in hip hop and breakdancing, but I was surprised to find out that their training is in ballet.

Optical health

When health and fitness are discussed, it is often overlooked that eyesight is also part of the overall picture. As we take care of our muscles, so must we pay attention to the health of our eyes. Spending too many hours without rest in front of a computer monitor is harmful to our optical nerves, [...]

Hiatus

Truth be told, I haven’t been back to the gym for about a month now. My M-W-F workout routine was disrupted by erratic schedules at work. Lately I’ve been with clients who seem to prefer unconventional hours…. I could change my gym schedule, I suppose, but there’s no telling when my work hours will “normalize”.

Body mass index

I’m sure there’s much discussion and argument going on over the concept of BMI: body mass index. Basically, it’s a person’s ideal weight depending on his/her height. But what about age? Anyway, here’s an excerpt: The body mass index (BMI) is a calculated number, used to compare and analyse the health effects of weight on [...]

Zero net effect

Recently a fast-food outlet put up a sign outside their establishment for Sunday aerobics sessions. On the surface of it, the gimmick seems a worthy undertaking. It’s free and open to anybody who wants to join. But… fast food? Of course, I’m sure the ultimate objective is for this shop to sell their goods.
